The Twin Tiers Corridors of Pennsylvania State Route 6 and New York State Route 17 offers unique and exciting things to do and see in the regional areas.  From mountains and music to rivers and relaxation, there's just about every recreational opportunity you could imagine.

The seasons and places within the Corridors offers residents and visitors chances to get away and do something different for a change.  The Corridors has it's own NAPA Valley within the heart of the region--in the Finger Lakes area--which offers wine tours and wine tasting events practically all year round.  For those who treasure the taste of maple syrup, the winter months of each new year boasts many fine maple producers in the region, as well.

The respective regions offers travelers various seasons--12 of them!  While we enjoy the traditional four seasons of Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, there are other seasons in our area that are nontraditional in nature, but are hugely popular, unique to our area and deserving of some mention here.

"Maple Season" During Feburary and March of each year,  both states hosts maple tours which highlight the various producers, tours of manufacturing facilities and maple products crafted locally.  Ahhh, the thoughts of spring and the sweet taste of maple..........

"Fishing Season" April and May not only bring about the green leaves, but also the time when fly fishermen flock to the rivers, creeks and streams for the bounty of fish stocked in our area.  There are even plenty of private resort fishing establishments for those who do not have a license.  Each year Pennsylvania holds the "Pennsylvania Fish for Free Day".

"Swimming - Boating Season" From June and into the Fall, New York and Pennsylvania boasts some of the most beautiful State Parks and natural setting sight seeing opportunities, some with waterfalls, peaceful lakes and ponds to relax by or go swimming and boating.  The bay areas and Great Lakes of Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York along the Seaway Trail beckon you to the shorelines and lighthouses along the byway.

"Biking - Racing Season" Whether it's motorcycle or bicycle, the country roads and Rails To Trails offers you plentiful options to visit the mountains and valleys of the Corridors.  The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, near Wellsboro, PA holds a 60+ mile stretch of trail at the base of the canyon where you can enjoy bird watching, flora and fauna, and native wildlife while biking along the famous Pine Creek.  Auto racing, such as NASCAR & the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally, as well as motocross and other racing enthusiast events take place at different venues along the Corridors.

"Railroading Season" Train buffs and children of all ages can enjoy and learn about the heydays of the locomotive.  There are many rail riding opportunities within the region with themed trains, with one particular rail ride offering you a chance to view the thrill of an old fashioned Wild West Train Robbery!

"Stargazing Season" Hang out with the stars at the Cherry Springs State Park where stargazing is said to be the best on the eastern seaboard.  High amid the mountains of Potter County, Pennsylvania, the park is home to astronomers and fans of the night time skies.  Whether or not you own a telescope, the friendly folks there offer you a visual tour of the constellations and the galaxy through educational programs.

"Flaming Foilage Season" We really hate to brag about this one (NOT, haha), but during the fall, the region transforms itself with the brightest colors of trees you can imagine.  As each day of fall passes, the picture changes with the color of the leaves.  Bright shades of reds, yellow and oranges are visible from miles away as you travel throughout the area.

"Victorian Season" Progressing into the holiday season, many of the smaller merchants and retailers offers you an opportunity to shop for unique and one-of-kind handcrafted gifts that you won't find anywhere else, many of which are also offered through their online shops, year-round (so you don't have to wait).  From the arrival of pumpkins and well into the holiday gift-giving season, you may want to take a step back in time when many Wintertime events take place, such as Dickens of A Christmas in Wellsboro or the Hawley Winterfest in Hawley, Pennsylvania.  These two special events bring you the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas during the Victorian Age celebrating the holidays.

The unofficial 12 seasons of the Twin Tiers Corridors extends visitors and residents an invitation to relax, reminisce, and recharge yourself.  We welcome you to wander through the region and see our many fine shoppes, restaurants and innkeepers awaiting your visit.  Feel free to drop us a line and tell us about it, if you are so inclined.  We'd love to hear from you!
